Track of the Week: Hip Hop's Home, "What U Sayin' to me"

On the eve of the official release of M.Ez's Hip Hop's Home demo c.d., It's my priviledge to provide you with the final track review. It wasn't easy to pick the last one, as I had to forgo my personal fave "Heavy Burden" as well as other sure fires, including "Everyday I Grind", "Fly Away", and "Walk in" to name a few; however, this one track has everything that a great song requires, such as a superb flow, a distinct message, and unique versatility. M.Ez skillfully corresponds feeling with the tempo and the overall flow of the song. He begins calm, relating to the pleasure on emceeing, as he spits, "but when I step on stage, I d'd'do hear a cheer"; but not before long, the flow changes as he speeds up, when reflecting on being compared to other established hip hop artists, revealing fury. The lyrical change of pace, not only highlights varying emotions, but it allows the track to be deeper in meaning. This type of effective way of creating music propels the whole genre to greater heights, which is exactly why hip hop is home and it's gearing up for some spring cleaning!

Track Of The Week: "Goin' Crazy"

To put in perspective, when speaking of the final track "Goin' Crazy" on M.Ez's upcoming album Hip Hop's Home, "last but not least" is an understatement. This song is absolutely in a category of its’ own. If you happen to pick up a Rock-n-Roll single, sample it, blaze a L, then hit the studio and spit, you would probably come out with the foundation of this track. However, what M.Ez has done couldn’t be mimicked, because of his unique ability to mix intellect with swag and ingenuity, which is the framework of this groundbreaking track. M.Ez makes great use of lyrics to explain his journey to stardom, “I’m feeling out-of-place, like I’m from out-of-space, riding on the I’ with the Florida plates, out-of-state, just to go do me a show, just so my movement could grow…” and concluding the initial verse stating, “hip hop might really be dead.” To some, he can’t be further from the truth, but to others he can't be any more real. In any event, a breathe of fresh air to mainstream hip hop is certainly what M.Ez is about, which is evident even of the last track.

A REAL LOVE SONG

Valentines gift: Lyrics to "Sympathetic"

Artist: M.Ez
Album: Hip Hops Home
Song: Sympathetic
Typed by: Steller039@hotmail.com

(M.Ez speaking)
Ya know, I went to bed last night, feelin hard bodied, and I woke up this morning,
Felt a type of way, I cant really put my finger on it though, vibe

(Chorus)
I’m just so sympathetic, I get so energetic, for ya touch, and I don’t care who sees
(Repeat 2x)

(M.Ez)
Uh, see I was chillen on the avenue, I seen a bad chick Prada bag matchin boots
I’m like dam baby, I aint even mad at you, but you make me want to beat it up till its black and blue,
Nah, sorry I was only playin boo, I'm kinda nervous and I don’t know what to say to you,
And my boys over so I’m just playin cool, and I’m from jersey so everything that I say is rude,
So you should let me get your digits, maybe later on we could kick it, you could be my friend or you could be my misses, love in the kitchen, breakin all the dishes,
I’cah speed it up if you want to go fast, or I’ cah slow it down baby I’cah make it last,
You know I'm so smooth what I’m sayin on the tracks, spend a night wit ya boy, I bet ya never going back, ya heard that?

(Chorus)

(M.Ez)
Look mama, we could go and ride no drama, they wont find us, Osama,
You could cop Gucci, Fendi and the Prada, ride through D.C., shout out Obama
M.Ez chillen, red bone wit him, love lockd down, my bedroom the prison,
I’m no scrub, so I don’t attract pigeons, they love me and I dig’em, dig me?
Move on subjects, we could get it poppin, talking bout new clothes when we go shoppin
I aint talkin guns baby, I aint no gangsta, but I’m a G in the sheets, no wanksta
Hello girlfriend, goodbye boyfriend, time to get a new one, you really don’t enjoy him
He don’t spoil ya, he don’t adore ya, you a top shelf baby, he can’t afford ya, Ez

(Chorus)

(Outro- fade out)
I don’t really care no more, It’s out there (laugh)
It’s cuz of you, It’s what it is
M.Ez, new jerz, im good

Track of the week: "Hip Hop Hustle"

"Ohh I think ya'll is trouble, I took the game over wit ma Hip Hop Hustle." How can so much confidence come from someone who hasn't even sold an album, yet? Well, thats exactly the swagger that you will soon encounter when you hear M.Ez's "Hip Hop Hustle." Its a performance that's sincerely felt, as the message absolutely punctures your core and distinctly moves you. On the hook, though M.Ez claims "I get pennies for my thoughts I aint neva broke", he is expressing the determination and dedication that is going to turn those pennies into platinum plaques. Ultimately, we can all benefit from the exceptional artistic capability of M.Ez's work, cause not only does he do it with passion, but he signaturely adds to his music a sense of humor, humility, and unrelenting SWAG!

Hip Hop's Home: My Everything

On the track, sampling Drake's "My Everything", M.Ez proclaims his marriage to none other than Hip Hop. Surprised?!? Well, you'd immediately realize his passion and love for the game after listening to the album. Referring to his so called wife, this track however ingeniously speaks of a girl, qouting, "mami body bangin, it's something like a shotty." The concept of the track is extremely unique, with a M.Ez flow that's smooth, confident, and especially swag certified. His in tune lyrics produce a feel that speaks to the ladies, and at the same time lets everyone understand his true passion. All in all, we can rest assure, judging not only from this track but by the entire album, that he isn't getting a divorce anytime soon.

Hip Hop’s Home: Anti-Frontin

At the onset of the track Anti-Frontin,
M.Ez states, "somthin different"; which is actually an extremely accurate description of it. Putting on blast those who are considered to be "fake", he explains in detail why we need the word "bullshit" in the english language. To compare, Jadakiss' track "Who's Real" comes to mind. However, unlike Jada's record, Ez actually breaks down how people "front", generally making others perceive them as something or someone they're really not. Though Swizz Beatz didn't do the production (or the hook), the lyrics sit surprisingly comfortable on the track, which is an accomplishment in itself considering the beat selection. Overall, the track is on point just for the simple fact that it's getting played-out and annoying when people give unrealistic representations of themselves just to fit in or get what they want. We understand ya hustle. Just be real!

P.S. Use this track to figure out if someone's real or not. Play the track when the person is around. Tell him/her that it's your new favorite song. Then compare their attitude before and after hearing the song, chances are they'll open their eyes, revealing who they really are.
